Preserving History, Recycling Barns

Vintage Log Buildings

Rustic Innovations offers antique log buildings for those customers that want a pure rustic flair that a true log home provides. Antique log buildings show off the skills of the original craftsmen's time-comsuming log preparation and precise corner joinery. Also, the old-growth wood of these antique log buildings has a beautiful tight grain pattern which provides more stabilty with less cracks and movement along with increased strength and increased rot resistance.

Rustic Innovations carefully searches for log buildings that have the desired qualities for reuse as homes. Our focus on barns helps us find larger buildings with less windows, modifications, and door cutouts than you find with old log homes. We accurately document and label the log building prior to demoliation for easy reassembly. The log building is then carefully disassembled in the reverse order that is was originally constructed. The logs are pressure washed, inspected, and treated as necessary. Any repairs are performed by our skilled craftsmen with old-world methods and similar materials. All logs are stored inside until they are shipped to their new site.

Rustic Innovations can provide design services, design ideas, and construction consultation. We can also provide crews to reassemble your log home. Why buy an antique for your home when you can live in an antique? Please consider Preserving History by Recycling an Old Log Building!
